Florida Beaches
The beaches of St. Petersburg and Clearwater feature soft, white sand, tempting blue-green water and are consistently ranked among the finest in the nation. Pristine and tranquil, with the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico gently lapping miles of uninterrupted shoreline, the beaches here are a far cry from the ocean surf of the east coast.
North Beach in Fort De Soto Park was named the Top Beach in America for 2008 and 2009 by TripAdvisor, while coastal geologist Stephen Leatherman, a.k.a. “Dr. Beach,”ranked it America’s No. 1 Beach out of more than 650 major recreational beaches across the country in 2005 using more than 50 criteria. In 2009, Caladesi Island State Park a few miles north of TradeWinds won that top honor, beating out beaches in Hawaii and California.
Whether you’re looking for a fun-filled day building sandcastles and splashing in the surf, or a peaceful stroll along the shore at sunset, TradeWinds Island Resorts make it possible.
