KONK Club (Kids Only, No Kidding!)
No boring family vacation here! The KONK Club’s experienced counselors take fun seriously. These supervised programs offer a wide range of exciting things to do for kids aged 4-11 that include lunch or dinner, games and themed activities. Drop off the kids and enjoy a few hours to yourself to relax in a hammock or enjoy a quiet romantic dinner. Pre-registration is required, space is limited, nominal charge.
What’s three stories tall, 200feet long, and can make even a totally cool teenager squeal with delight? Take a deep breath, close your eyes, and plummet down the three-story High Tide Water Slide located beachfront at Island Grand. All day passes or individual ride tokens are available at a charge for those at least 42” tall.
RedBeard the Pirate
Captain RedBeard drops by Pirate Island to show kids how to make their own sharktooth necklaces or buccaneer beads and will introduce them to Bones, his faithful parrot sidekick. RedBeard regales the young – and not so young - with his tall tales of the sea and songs of tropical adventures at the free pirate show. Check the calendar for RedBeard shows and crafts.
TradeWinds Actions Zone (T.A.Z.) Team
Let our T.A.Z. Team keep you entertained with activities and crafts for all ages. Whether it’s creating your own sea shell night light, a sand-sculpting competition, poolside bingo or cheering on Dad in the Red Belly belly flop contest, there’s fun for the whole family. The T.A.Z. Painting Studio is open daily with a variety of items for customized gifts to take back home, and Kid’s Cove is a drop-off program with fun crafts several days a week.
Paddleboats
Hop aboard a paddleboat and cruise under bridges, around islands and come beak to nose with one of our resident swans at Island Grand. This meandering waterway is home to graceful Japanese coi, schools of Nile perch and a variety of herons and egrets. Fish-feeding stations are located alongside the banks. Included in the resort fee.
Games of Skill
A challenging mini-golf putting green, life-size chess set, ping pong and pool tables in open air courtyards, beach volleyball or games in Beef ‘O’ Brady’s family sports pub all offer diversions when swimming in the pools and playing on the beach become “been there, done that”. Small charge for glow-in-the-dark events, all day play free.
Swimming Lessons
There’s no better place than TradeWinds to learn to swim. We’ll provide a fun introduction of swimming basics and water safety with a certified Red Cross instructor who has experience working with kids. Private lessons are available by appointment. Pre-registration is required and adults are welcome.
Beaker Tuck-Ins at Island Grand
Create the memory of a lifetime by surprising your kids on Saturday evening by having our loveable mascot Beaker the Pelican visit their room to personally wish them sweet dreams. He’ll even bring along a Beaker plush keepsake. Check our calendar for dates.
Hair Braids & More
Check out the beachfront pool deck at Island Grand on sunny weekends to find a variety of local artisans applying henna body art, creating a few Caribbean hair braids or selling customized jewelry.
Bungee Trampoline
Combine the fun of a trampoline with the thrill of bungee jumping and what do you get? A full day of excitement at TradeWinds Island Resorts! Island Grand boasts three bungee trampolines that are available for daily fun! Guests may purchase all day wristbands or single ride tokens.
